The Soil is a South African a cappella group from Soweto founded in 2003, consisting of the lead singer Ntsika Ngxanga, beatboxer Luphindo, and vocalist Theo Matshoba. The band eponymous debut LP The Soil, which became certified Platinum by the Recording Industry of South Africa.

Who are the 4 members of the soil?

Members. The Soil currently consists of four members: Buhlebendalo “Soil Sister” Mda, Ntsika “Fana-tastic” Ngxanga, Luphindo “Master P” Ngxanga and Theo “Songstress” Matshoba. Theo joined the group in February 2016 as an occasional replacement for Buhlebendalo Mda. Ntsika and Luphindo are biological brothers.

At the time, the group comprised Buhlebendalo Mda, Phindo Ngxanga, and Ntsika Ngxanga. In 2020, the trio said they were taking a break to focus on solo music careers. However, they are back together and gearing up to release a new album.

The group formed back in 2003 when the native Sowetans met at high school. ‘Particles of the Soil’ originally consisted of 25 members, but by 2010 only 3 members remained, who renamed the group ‘The Soil’.
